Today is my birthday! The cake and gifts are great, but more than that I love to reflect on my past year.
Just to take in everything that happened. How much my kids grew, all the family adventures we had, the new businesses we started, and the new ideas we had that we still want to do, everything that made my year worth remembering.
But one thing that stood out to me this year is the importance to love what you are doing & being positive towards your work!
So, I thought why not share this with you.
I know you are probably thinking; yeah sure we would all love to love our jobs, but life happens.
Well, I decided to go do some research and see why it is actually really important to like/love your job and here it goes…
Loving/liking your jobs actually leads to better health. When people like their jobs they tend to stress less about it and their working environment. A lot of times it isn’t always the job, it’s the environment that causes you to stress. The place and people you work with have a big influence on the way you feel about your job!
So, less stress for you when you love what you do! Did not intend it to rhyme, I promise. LOL
Loving what you do increases your motivation as well as your confidence. When you feel good about your work your confidence gets a massive boost and you feel good about yourself!
It is so important to love yourself and have that confidence!
Also, it increases productivity. When you are more motivated and like what you do it is easier to work hard and achieve more. This directly links with being more successful in your job! When you don’t like your job, you would rarely like to achieve anything and work towards success. Most of the time the goal is only to finish the work.
You deserve it. You deserve to love what you do! Yes, it’s good for your health and you might be more successful, but most importantly you will be happy!
And that to me is why it is important. Life is short and we should live it to the fullest and strive to be happy and enjoy every little bit.
But I know that life does happen, and it isn’t always possible to love what you do or the people you work with. That’s why it is just as important to find ways to cope with it and have positive thoughts.
You need to be able to adjust your mindset and find a way to unwind when you are at home and take time to relax so your job doesn’t take over. If you have a difficult time with your job also try not to take it home with you. Working until late in your relaxing space is no fun, so try and avoid it!
While I read up on this topic, I came across an awesome quote:
If you can’t be in the job you love…
Love the job you’re in (or the way you do it).
So, if you are in the position of not liking your job at least like the way you do it. Take pride in yourself and how you complete your tasks.
That’s it from me for this week, I hope I inspired you!
Lots of love,
